NOTICE : The following is a list of the booklets and information offered by Legal Aid of Nebraska for community legal education. Laws are complicated and can be confusing, so you should always call an attorney as soon as you begin having a problem or receive court papers.  The sooner you call an attorney the better!

Landlord/Tenant  ... If you are having a problem with your landlord, want to better understand your lease, or want to know more about your rights as a tenant, this Handbook will help explain Nebraska law governing landlords and tenants. 

Divorce ... In this handbook, we show you the basic steps you must go through to get a divorce.  A simple divorce can be final in as little as nine or ten months.  However few are that simple. 

Do It Yourself Divorce ...This a series of booklets that covers frequently asked questions regarding Pro Se ( Do It Yourself ) Divorce and Custody.

Bankruptcy  ... In this Handbook, we will tell you what your rights are and what rights your creditors have.  We will tell you how to get a fresh start if you just can't seem to solve your financial problems in other ways. We have tried to explain things in ways so that you can help yourself. 

Farm Risk Management ... This is a series of booklets designed specially for Farmers and those interested in Farming as a a way of life. In this series you will find information on Beginning Farmers,  Environmental Laws,  Production Risks,  Price Risks,  Conservation  Programs, Farm Leases,  Debtor Creditor Law and  Farm Bankruptcy. 

Income Tax ... This series of booklets is designed to answer your questions and give you information on your income tax rights and responsibilities. Some of the titles are Earned Income Tax Credit,  Child Tax Credit,  Taxpayer Identification Number,  Filing Status, Injured Spouses and FAQ Tax Questions.

Community Economic Development ... These booklets describe the Pro's and Con's of forming a non-profit incorporated business and the how to formation of a non-profit corporation.

Food Stamp Program   The Food Stamp Program is not just for people with children. It is also for eligible individuals including the elderly and disabled. Legal Aid of Nebraska is able to offer Food Stamp Program information and assistance on the Nebraska food stamp program to anyone who would like to receive it. ..... more
