The Low-Income Tax Clinic provides
legal services to eligible individuals who contact Legal Aid of Nebraska
for assistance with income tax matters, creates written educational
materials about income tax that are available to the general public, and
gives legal education presentations about income tax and related issues
across the State of Nebraska, with specific educational outreach to
people with Limited English Proficiency. The Low-Income Tax Clinic
does not do tax preparation, but refers people needing free tax
preparation assistance to Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites
and the Taxpayer Assistance Centers at the local IRS offices. The
Low-Income Tax Clinic is seeking agencies and businesses across Nebraska
that will invite the clinic to make free legal education presentations.
